Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed in the Rajya Sabha that the Railway Ministry has decided to increase the number of RRB ALP & Technician vacancies to 60000 from 26502. This news has been confirmed by the board by issuing fresh notification of its decision. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also tweeted this information. The information of revised vacancies will be updated on various regional RRB websites very soon. Candidates should check the website of the concerned Railway Region for this information. The board has issued the online examination date and time for candidates who have filed applications. Railways have announced this big news for applicants a week before the Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician Online Recruitment Examination. This exam is going to start on 9th August.
According to latest report, about 47 lakh candidates have applied for the examination. Candidates should keep in mind that with the increase in the number of total vacancies, it is likely that board will reopen applications for changes in RRB preferences. However, this can possibly be done after the first step of computer based test is finished.
According to previous trends, RRB generally shortlist more than 10 times candidates for further selection stages. By reading the statements of several experts, it is known that it is a complete possibility that the department will conduct more than one level of written tests. The first phase online computer based test would commence from 9 August 2018.
Candidates whose date of examination is August 9, their admit card will be issued on August 5.

Step 1: First open the address of concerned railway board
Step 2: Now search frontpage for respective notice and link
Step 3: Click on ALP/Technician Admit Card link
Step 4: You will be asked to login to your account with your registration number, date of birth and captcha
Step 5: Fill all credentials correctly in the form and click on link
Step 6: You admit card will be open on your computer screen
Step 7: Verify all details printed on card
Step 8: Download your card and take printout
Note: Candidate’s biometrics will be matched with Aadhaar card before going inside the examination hall. Don’t forget to take Admit Card and Aadhaar Card while going for exam.
About Waiting List
Most of the candidates do not know about this news. The Board will issue the Waiting List with the result. This list will include the names of many candidates. If for some reason the candidate refuses to or any document found wrong during the original document verification then the candidates in the waiting list will be called.
